    Relays

    Relays- how are these determined?

    • When you sign your swimmer up please put if they are able to swim a relay
    • Parents: you are not signing your swimmers up for a relay just if they are able to swim
    • Relays - are fun and most kids love relays more than individual events
    • The relays are usually computer generated with a touch of Coach Fossmo’s assistance
    • The 4 fastest available swimmers become the “A” relay, the next 4 become the “B”relay and so on. We try to create as many relays as possible to give the maximum number of swimmers the opportunity to
    • Different types of relays
    1. Medley relay: 4 swimmers swimming in a specific order  Backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. This is usually swam at the beginning of the meet
    2. Freestyle relay: 4 swimmers swimming freestyle stroke. At the end of the meet, except 6 and under swimmers
    • Relays are a lot of work and if swimmer is not circled in they will be taken off of the 1st set of relays (new swimmers ask an old swimmer where to sign in)
    • Parents: you are the most important part of the relays. If you have to leave or a situation arises, please let coach’s know as soon as possible otherwise that relay team may be scratched and those swimmers will miss out!

Relays are posted to the Rattlesnake website Friday before the meet. May want to check early Saturday morning just in case it was changed Friday evening.
